During
the 2004-2005 academic year, our School joined the Célula
Europa within the Sow and Grow innovation project. As its name suggests, the aim of this project
is to foster the idea of
Everyone
in the School, department heads, teachers, parents and student representatives
have become involved in this initiative.
Célula Europa is an expression of our wish to open ourselves
to Europe, as an opportunity for the future, to grow as citizens that support
democratic values and to enable a level of coexistence characterised by
progress and well-being in which there is a respect for the liberty and identity
of each of the peoples that form part of
When we
notice the words "Europe Day" beside the date May 9 in our diaries or
calendars, we wonder what happened that day and there are very few European
citizens who know that the European Community was set up on
That
date has become a European symbol which, together with the single currency, the
flag and hymn, identifies the political identity of the European Union.
Europe
Day is a day of celebration but it is also a time and for reflection and for
this reason, all the students in our School, from Infants to Vocational
Training, take part in activities programmed to commemorate May 9.
